Santa Claus Safari

Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland, is known to be the legendary home of Santa Claus and his reindeer. A joyful Christmas spirit prevails in Santa’s workshop not only at the festive season but every day of the year. In the far north, one of the summer highlights is experiencing the Midnight Sun. In the Arctic Circle region, the sun never sets below the horizon for a period between early June and early July, and outside of this period long summer days may still be enjoyed.

Daily schedule:

You will arrive in Rovaniemi in the morning. First you will have some free time in the town to for example enjoy breakfast. The tour begins from the Safari Club. It begins with a trip by traditional riverboat and a visit to a local Reindeer cottage to hear about the reindeer husbandry and Lappish culture. You will participate in the special ceremony of crossing the Arctic Circle. Lappish style lunch will be served at the Reindeer cottage. You are also welcome to visit the home of the Lappish family and their Workshop.

In the afternoon you visit Santa Claus in his workshop on the Arctic Circle. Time for shopping at the Santa Claus Village and to send postcards from Santa?s main post office. The tour ends in the city of Rovaniemi where you will have free time to explore Rovaniemi on your own before your return trip back to Helsinki.
