Daily schedule:

Programme based for groups minimum 10 persons an on accommodation at hotel Chalet Ruka Peak:

DAY I
WELCOME TO KUUSAMO

Arrival at Kuusamo. Rukapalvelu guide welcomes the group at the airport. A short walk to the service building Mosquito, where the group is given the winter equipment: the guests get socks, winter boots, overalls and gloves.

Luggage is transported directly to the hotel. The guests will be transported in sleighs pulled by snowmobiles to our Pohjanseita wilderness lodge (15 minutes transfer).

A shaman welcomes the guests at Pohjanseita and makes her lucky charms so that the people will be under a good spell during their stay in Kuusamo. Warm welcome drinks will be served by a campfire. Possibility to enjoy three different saunas in the new forest spa:
a traditional Finnish sauna, a smoke sauna or a herb sauna. There is also a cold water pool on the terrace to refresh during the sauna.

A delicious dinner will be served at the Pohjanseita chalet.

After dinner transfer to the hotel by bus.

DAY II
SNOWMOBILE SAFARI TO THE ICEKARTING TRACK, REINDEER FARM AND ?RUSSIA?

9.00 Breakfast at the hotel.

10.00 Transfer by bus to the Safarihouse.

10.10 Meeting with Rukapalvelu guide at the Safarihouse. Equipping with balaclavas and helmets. The guide will give the group a lesson in snowmobiling, and off you go for a safari through the wintry forests!

11.30 Arrival at the icekarting track. The participants are given the instructions on the track. Competition on the karting cars, four karts at the same time on the track.

12.30 The trip continues from the icekarting track on snowmobiles towards the reindeer farm.

14.00 After lunch, the participants have a chance to drive the reindeer sledge. Snow hurtles and the reindeer is running as it was pulling the sledge of Santa Claus!

15.00 The trip continues on snowmobiles towards ?the Russian border?.

18.00 Arrival at the ?Russian border?. A Russian soldier is guarding the post. After negotiations and perhaps a few bribes given, he lets the group pass the border.

A short drive to the wilderness lodge Kammi, where warm welcome drinks will be served by a campfire.

A traditional Finnish smoke sauna is heated for the guests. They can refresh themselves by rolling in the snow outside the sauna, or taking a dip in the cold waters of Petäjälampi lake through a hole in the ice.

19.30 After sauna, a delicious dinner will be served at the Kammi chalet in

21.30 After dinner transfer to the hotel by adventure bus.

DAY III
SNOWSHOE HIKE ON THE FELL RUKA FLOATING IN RAPID KIVESKOSKI
SAUNABUS

10.00 Breakfast at the hotel.

11.00 Meeting with Rukapalvelu guide at the hotel reception. Equipping with snowshoes and the winter equipment at the Safarihouse. The guests will get overalls, boots, woollen socks, gloves and hats. Enjoying the wonderful landscape and snow-covered trees on the top of the hill. Hot juice is enjoyed on a break.

13.00 The snowshoe safari ends at the hotel Chalet Ruka Peak. Returning the snowshoes. Transfer by bus to rapid Kiveskoski.

13.30 At Kiveskoski, equipping with floating suits, life vests and helmets. The guide will give you instructions on the floating. Letting yourself to the flow of the rapid, 8 persons at a time. Surrounded by ice and snow you will float in the gentle flow. While waiting to get to the rapid, the others have lunch by the campfire.

15.00 A saunabus with a sauna heated up is waiting for the group. Departure from Kiveskoski on the saunabus while enjoying the heat of the sauna and refreshments in the bus. Karaoke is also possible. You will be given bathrobes and slippers, please bring your own bathing suit.

A stop will be made on the way to refresh by rolling in the snow. A stop in a bar is also possible.

19.00 Arrival at restaurant Tundra on the saunabus. A delicious 3-course dinner will be served in restaurant Tundra.

After dinner transfer to the hotel by bus.

DAY IV
HUSKY RIDE

9.00 Breakfast at the hotel.

9.30 Check out. Transfer by bus to the husky farm.

9.45 Arrival at the farm. The husky farmer will give you a lesson in driving the sleigh, and off you go with the dogs in the forest! There are two persons in each sleigh, one is sitting and the other one is standing on the runners. Half way you switch places. Total distance driven approximately 10 km.

After the drive grilling sausages and enjoying coffee and a sweet bun by a campfire.

12.15 Transfer by bus to the airport.

12.45 Returning the winter equipment in the Mosquito building at the airport.

14.05 Flight departure.
